The Savannah Cabinet Shop is owned and operated by one of Savannah’s most experienced master cabinetry craftsman, Steve Layden, and his step-son Walt Freeman.  Steve is a Savannah native with a passion for woodworking.   He began cabinet work in 1966. Walt is a Georgia native and a natural entrepreneur with a passion for building innovative, well-branded businesses. Together, over the past three years, they have developed a following of satisfied customers who appreciate Steve’s craftsmanship and Walt’s “can do” attitude.

The Savannah Cabinet Shop is a diverse cabinet shop with capabilities ranging from unique, custom furniture pieces, to designer kitchen remodels, to entire homes designed in stock, semi-custom and custom cabinetry. The Savannah Cabinet Shop has been perfecting kitchen design and custom cabinetry production for over forty years. During that time, Steve Layden, the founder and co-owner of The Savannah Cabinet Shop, has built a reputation in Savannah as a master craftsman proficient in cabinetry design and kitchen remodels. His step-son, Walt Freeman, joined the company in 2005 in order to expand the business and continue the legacy of Steve’s cabinetry knowledge through to the next generation.

The Savannah Cabinet Shop combines master craftsmanship with cutting-edge, computer-aided design. Our professional cabinetry designers work to cover every detail with you through phone calls, emails, faxes, postal parcels, and personal visits. You will be able to see the product you will receive through real wood samples.

Because we both sell and manufacture custom cabinetry lines, we can create virtually any style, any door design and any finish. If you are looking to remodel your kitchen or are in the design stage of building your custom home, we recommend that you create an “idea file” with pictures that appeal to you. Our designers can use these pictures to learn more about your personal taste and to ultimately turn your ideas in to reality.
